Before you take the step to become a part-owner in Xero Shoes, you may have some questions. Hopefully, this page will help.
Alex, Brit, Tammy, and Andrew sent these videos to share why they became Xerowners:
We got dozens more emails. Here are a few:
I want to see Xero Shoes succeed beyond even your wildest dreams and become as widespread as Crocs or Nikes. If my little contribution/stock purchase helps achieve that goal, then it will be more than worth the risk.

I chose to invest in Xero shoes
Because Xero shoes helped me discover my feet.
Growing up, my parents told me I walk pigeon-toed
I remember spending an afternoon in the park, being forced to walk with my feet straight
They only cared about how I walked.
(My grandfather walk pigeon-toed too)
We weren’t thinking about my feet, though.
And we weren’t thinking about the shoes I was wearing.
Xero shoes helped me rethink things from the ground up and build a solid foundation.
So, when the opportunity arose to invest in zero shoes, I jumped in!
Of course I looked before I lept.
And I found Lena and Steve to be able stewards of the organization.
The cherry on top, so to speak, was their a irreverent sense of humor.
Consequently, I offer my gratitude to them 4 the opportunity to invest.

Why did IÂ invest in Xero Shoes? Good question.
I would be lying if I said my reasons were entirely rational and not at least partially based on emotion. And I would also be lying if I said that even I fully understand my reasons. But I guess I can express at least some of the rationale I used, at least as I understand it. BTW I am seemingly unable to be brief. I hope this is helpful.
I think the primary motivation is that I have been following the company since its early days. I really love the passion behind it and the almost cult following it has created. Not to mention the success against seemingly impossible odds. The footwear business is cutthroat and dominated by some global giants who can (and do) squash smaller companies without even a thought. The fact that Xero Shoes is successful while remaining true to their roots and produce superior products at reasonable prices is amazing. So it gives me pleasure if I can in some way contribute to its success. FYI Xero Shoes have ruined me for other types of footwear.
I would have to admit part of the reason is because I am in a position where I am able to invest at least a small sum of money in something high risk without rational reasoning, making it kind of fun to do. And it would not really hurt me if it were lost, so I can still say “oh well, it was worth it”. So, I see it kind of like money to gamble with in Las Vegas (but with far better odds): fun if I win or lose, no down side for me. Of course there is a real chance that Xero Shoes could become really big and/or become big enough that one of the giants purchase it (for enormous gobs of cash I hope). While obviously the former would be preferable to the latter, if it means good quality minimalist shoes continue to be available to people, either option is better than the products disappearing entirely (which I hope never happens).
And I can’t not admit that a big reason is Steven and Lena. I love their personalities and passion, and have to admit that Steven is a real character. I say that as a total complement. I have worked for people with that kind of passion and charm and while I don’t now, I appreciate that there are still companies like that. I suspect Xero Shoes must be a great place to work, and at least I can experience it vicariously through my small investment.
